The way to sucess First, this title is from CET-6, but my note is not for the esam,it's just an essay. A big thank for the one who correct it. After I got the exam paper, I just knew Lincon had said that words, which is similar to a Chinese old saying: It will not waste your time to sharp your axe before the cutting of firewood. All they said is that you have to do adequate preparation for your goals. We could see this provebe do much effect in scientifical research. About 70 years ago, a chinese young man named Bing-ti Ho went to USA and landed on New York. About 30 years later, he became an world famous historian. His experiances to success would interprete this old saying. In 1945, he had aimed to pass the exam--organized by Tsing-Hua University- for student who wanted to study abroad. He did much work for it: First, he did deep researches in his main fields and published many papers on them. Second, he wrote a latter to the man who set questions and asked him not to set too eccentric topics. At last he got the chance to study in New York. In 1948, he had to pass entrance examination to get the doctor's degree in Columbia University. The four examiner were all world famous specialist. He had about two months to prepare for it. And he had to read over two thousand kinds of reference books. He had spent all day in library in reading them. Eventually, he passed the exam. In my opinion, the way to success --the word "way " is not only means methodbut also means journey. On this trip, you may have to sacrifice much for your goal, and also you will achieve much like fame, money and so on. But the most important thing is to know what you acctually want. If you attain the goals set in your mind but you feel more emptiness, this is not a real success. (I am sorry for deviating from my subjest, and something about 1948 is not on matters of fact. And some Chinese proper nouns I don't know have to translate)

I don't have enough time to go through the whole thing, I'll see if I can do a bit more later.

The way to sucess

After I got the exam paper, I just knew Lincon (there is spelling error here) had said that (what do you need here singular or plural?) words, which is   (singular or plural? what does it agree with?) similar to a Chinese old saying (you need to rearrange these words, hint : you will need to change the article once you have rearranged it): It will not waste your time to sharp your axe before the cutting of firewood. (this is okay there is an error in the tense you have used, can you see it? Also after a colon we do not need a capital)

"...before the cutting of firewood" can you think of a better way to express this, hint: less words? Also I think we "chop wood" as opposed to  "cut wood".
