To give someone a finger means to insult that person with expletives! To finger someone can mean, let's put in more polite terms, the doctor giving you a prostate exam! While I am on this subject, so is the word, "prick". It can be a very derogatory term. Use with care. This reminds that in the old days, may be perhaps today, there are certain words you cannot use on radio. The best example is, "prick my finger but not finger my prick!".
