Japanese school uniform March is graduation season in Japan. Most Japanese high schools have uniforms. We have to wear them in the graduation ceremony. (and everyday) My high school uniforms are really bad taste. I'd rather attend with naked than wear the terrible uniforms. I was always fascinated by the movie scenes in which girls wear a beautiful dress and picked up by their boyfriends. In Japan, there is no custom of the prom. I want to go to prom at least once in my life!

Wow!, I would have never thought they were so bad. Since I haven't been to Japan it seemed they all seem so nice & the men uniforms too. I research EVERYWHERE to make sure I have accurate info., but I guess not =/.

@Ben: I think it is better not to have proms. They can be very expensive! Dresses, limo rentals, find the one to go with, spending money on the girl. Remember these are kids and are not working. So the burden falls on the parents. And you know how Chinese can be show offs! Just look at the red packets exchanged on Chinese New Year. See how many tongues are waggling at the amounts who gave to whom! In the movies, you see the romanticized versions. Think of the ones who have no date to go with! Wrong message to send out to. Only the beautiful looking should have the best things in life?

It is the same in China. Maybe it is a pity for our Asian girls that there is no customs like the proms.
