This is my topic  for my speech "FASHION"

First I suggest that if you can, make up a powerpoint presentation with examples of fashion and put 3-4 sentences in each slide.Otherwise bring in some pictures of  teenagers wearing the latest fashions.Start your talk by asking the audience a question. A speech always begins by you addressing your audience like your teacher and fellow students.

Good morning/afternoon Mr/Mrs/Miss Smith and felloe students:

Are you obssessed with fashion? Can you live without the latest clothes, shoes and other accessories?

Many teenagers are trapped by fashion. Like a magnet  it attracts them with such force that they can not control. They are helplessly tossed by the waves of fashion. It makes them dress in a certain way, wear the kind of hairstyles they wear, have piercings or tattoos, listen to  the latest music, read fashion magazines and talk in a certain way.  [ HOLD UP PICTURES AS EXAMPLES ]

Why are our children  obsessed with fashion?
From the moment that they meet,  clothes become adolescents' greatest ally. How to dress or be identified by certain types of clpthes?. For a boy or  a girl is not  being different is the main thing.  Although they start earlier, concerns about the way they dress  also affects them.
Many interpret fashion to  mean  that it shows other  people their individuality  Fashion or it can be called a  subculture allows  young people to identify with their group and states their opposition to  adult criteria.

What are some examples?  HOLD UP PICTURES

Wearing saggy, baggy  pants ( where the waist is no loger  the waist) or torn, huge sweatshirts, tight shirts with drawings, numbers and letters, tops that do not reach the navel,  tousled hair sneakers, an arrow through the tongue or a  dark visor  sets teenagers  apart from adults  enough to distance themselves from the adult world.  In fact,  parents would be ridiculous if they  "looked like that".  Don't you agree? They, in turn, feel good, perhaps because they think that they look good.

Teenagers use clothing as a system to communicate with their peers, with whom they share the same code. Parents are not interpreted in the same way,  and therefore, quite often , do not usually get along with their children in relation to this topic and often  it becomes a source of conflict.

Clothing communicates
Clothing is a means of communication: with it you say many things and adolescents have realized that a picture is worth 3000 words and want to use it to express themselves.
When they are small,  children accept used clothing  that their moms  decide  that they should wear. However, as they grow, their opinions become more vocal and both parents have to come to terms with them. Teenagers know what they want,  not just to choose their own clothes, but to define themselves as  different, autonomous and  wanting to make their own  decisions.
Clothing, hairstyles and ornaments  are the means by which  adolescents seek to reaffirm their own identity, reflecting a unique and original  appearance. However, the reality is that  all teenagers are dressed similarly, and what they want to accomplish, is to show and communicate what characterizes their generation.
They are proud of their dress, because instinctively they  look to their peers  for reactions and acceptance. They need to be appreciated by their group  by resembling them, and that each item of clothing is a sign of belonging.

Were we any different at their age? HERE YOU CAN SHOW PHOTOS OF WHAT YOU WORE AS A TEENAGER

Thank you for taking ghe time to listen to my speech today.

Many teenagers are trapped by fashion. Like a magnet, it attracts them with a force they can not control. They're helplessly tossed by the waves of fashion. It makes them dress in a certain way, wear the kind of hairstyle the others wear, pierce their ears or tattoo their skin, listen to music, read magazines and talk like them.

Why are our children the slaves of fashion?
In the very moment they appear, the clothes become the great allies of adolescents. How they dress defines who they are. For a boy or a girl it's not unimportant to be someone, even the laziest have their reasons to exist. The concern about the clothes starts early for them and affects them greatly.
One might interpret it as fashion. The youth fashion (some would call it subculture) allows them to identify with their group and stand in defiance of the adult values. Wearing saggy pants (which no longer have their waist in the waist) or stretched, huge sweatshirts, tight shirts with drawings, numbers and letters, tops that do not reach the navel, messy sneakers, an arrow through the tongue or glasses without lenses allows them to distance themselves from the adult world - in fact, their parents would be ridiculous looking like that. That makes them feel better, perhaps because their parrents feel worse.
They use clothing as a system of signs to communicate with their peers, with whom they share the same code. Parents do not interpret that language in the same way, so they don't usually get along with their children in this topic and it often becomes a source of conflict.

The clothing communicates
Clothing is a means of communication: it allows you to say many things about yourself and adolescents have realized that a picture is worth a thousand words and want to use it to express themselves.
Young kids accept the clothes their moms and dads choose, but as they grow, they become more vocal with their opinions and both parents have to come to terms with them. Teenagers know what they want. They don't just pick their clothes, they define who they are: different, autonomous and capable of making their own decisions.
With clothing, hairstyles and ornaments, they seek to affirm their own identity, reflecting their uniqqueness and originality. But in reality all teenagers are dressed similarly, and what they truly accomplish is showing and communicating what characterizes their generation.
They are proud of their clothing, because instinctively they observe their peers and mimic them. This way, they feel appreciated for adapting to the group, and each item of clothing is a sign of belonging to it.

alexia some make perfect sense, but some leaves my brain swimming in a fog, quite unsure what you want to say in some sentences and paragraphs. Maybe needs parallel Spanish text too. I stopped reviewing it because I go quite lost in parts, sorry. Here are some parts I didn't understand: (1) [For a boy or girl is not indifferent be one thing or another, even "get anything" has its reason for being ] (2) [Jump to interpret it as fashion go your way] do you mean 'Consider fashion from your own viewpoint' ? (3) [Accept small used clothing her mom decided and, as they grow, their opinions become more patents] do you mean when young they have no choice but to accept 'hand-me-downs' but later personal taste becomes apparent'? If you can show parallel Spanish text that will help to express it better.
