How different are we from each other? I mean I've always thought that if you had to sharing a part of your one's life with a person someone who had always lived thousands of miles away from you, you would easily have cause problems issues concerning everyday things because you had grown up in totally different cultures of cultural differences.
Probably This is what they I have always been told, us. but it this is not exactly like this. accurate. It is may be true that we have there are different customs, we eat different things foods, and languages. we speak djifferently... We Spaniards often interrupt each other when talking, but Americans always wait for their turn to speak; considering that very rude we are rude. what we do. Our In Spain, meals are normally made from scratch; we enjoy our food; we are proud of our Mediterranian diet; we party a lot; we go for cañas; we touch each other as part of our way of communicating; we embrace and kiss our friends, even our workmates.
Curiously, we don't say "I love you" as easily as others do. When we do say tell someone "I love you," it is in a very intimate situation, when we can't keep it for to ourselves any more longer. Sometimes even then we can't even say it because we keep those words for such are so special situations that we forget about them -- unable to find the person who we really consider, deserves them.
Spain is the perfect holiday destination; so much joy, laughter, and long, hot nights. We are really "enrollados," but are we really so open? Do we open our houses for homes to people coming to know our culture as easily as they do? Do we greet our new neighbours as warmly as they do?
Anyway... But When it comes to real feelings are we different from Americans, Chinese, or any other cultures? Don't we love our kids the same way? Don't we fear our parents' death the same? Don't we feel deep true love exactly the same? Who cares if we do it having paella or eating a peanut and jelly sandwich? I don't care. As a friend told me not long ago: "people are people," and he is was right.
Interesante, Belén. Podría decirme que la significa la palabra: "enrollados"?
