1. Ticket Touts
Today, I want to talk about a worldwide phenomenon of ticket touts since I've learned some words about it lately. The verb "to tout" means to sell tickets for an event such as a concert or a sport match for more money than their face value. Touts can also be used to call the people who try to make it profit of doing it.
I love watching concerts, so I guess you can call me a concertholic. I've watched numerous concerts from Lady Gaga to Westlife. As an experienced concert attender, therefore, I've dealt with touts on multiple occasions. Generally, tickets can be bought from an official source, such as the box office at the venue or the official website. However, If the singer or band is very popular, they can sell out very quickly, especially the best tickets- possibly for the front row seats. In this case, you might need to get a ticket from a tout. I have heard an extreme case of buying tickets from touts. Some tickets of a Lady Gaga's concert in Hong Kong were charged inflated prices from HKD1000 to HKD 30,000 in 2011. That was insane! Can you believe it? In fact, some fans couldn't resist the tempt, but did buy it despite the high price.
There are some risks of buying tickets from touts. For instance, sometimes they sell a fake ticket for a high price that is void and leaves you out-of -pocket. Hence, the best advice for avoiding touts is to buy them from authorized agencies as they are reputable and reliable.
Have you ever had any experience of buying tickets from touts? And could you teach me some other words can be used to describe tickets tout? Thank you!

If there is a willing buyer, and a willing seller then there is mutual benefit to both parties, and the transaction will take place. This is the fundamental mechanism driving commerce and trade is seen in global financial markets, to the local supermarket and everything in between.
