Overall, there is a fluctuation over the period shown; on the other hand, the figures of three countries in 2040 in comparison with the beginning of this period were increase approximately 25% of the respective populations. In 1940, the people aged 65 and over in USA were about 9%; whereas, the figures for Sweden and Japan were lower with 6% and 5% respectively. In the following years, this figures for Sweden and USA increased gradually; however, the proportion of elderly people in Japan dipped to about 3% from 1960 to 1990, after that raising to a similar started index by 2000. In spite of some fluctuation in the last time, by 2030, they are expected that a more dramatic increase in the next decade and reach the peak in 2040.
