English in Brazil In Brazil, almost all the people study English, but just a few of them really can speak this language fluently. I guess that it happens because the English learning is very poor here. The students learn English just to be able to pass in exams. The classes generally are crowded, boring and with much grammar. I’m not saying that grammar is not important, but, definitely, you don’t learn a second language studying only grammar. Many people in Brazil are looking for private courses to try learning English. When I was younger, I attended one of these courses. I studied for 18 months, twice a week (one and half hour each class). When, I finished this course, I could speak a little bit English, read reasonably, but definitely, I didn’t become fluent. After that, I didn’t practice English, I didn’t have opportunity to talk with English native speakers and the obvious happened: I forgot almost all that I had studied. Last year, I realized that I couldn’t speak anything in English and decided to study online. I’m really enjoying it. I can study in my rhythmic way, I can talk with a native speakers. I believe that I’ll be fluent soon.

English in Brazil

In Brazil, almost everyone studies English, but only a few can speak this language fluently. I guess that it happens because the English teaching is very poor here. The students learn English just to be able to pass in exams. The classes generally are crowded, boring and with too much grammar.
