10000 steps 1000 steps are less than kilometer. Not so much. Your shop-around-the-corner is possibly much further. And it takes only ten or fifteen minutes to reach the shop. Then why does an average person do much less steps than 10000 for 1440 day minutes? I mean with all his work, ways to work and to home, meetings with friends he has. His average day’s activity usually doesn’t exceed 5000 steps (2-3 campaigns to the shop-around-the-corner and back). I also have these 5000 steps when it’s too cold or enormously hot outdoors (that’s almost several months of an year in Moscow). But when wheather is more or less good I take my pedometer, pleer and go to the nearest park, or just to the center of the city. And I walk and listen to my pleer (usually audiobooks than music). It gives me enough activity (much more than recommended 10000 steps) and I manage to listen several chapters of an audiobook. Last time I combine walking and developing my English listening skill by listening VOA radio broadcasts. It helps a lot. I used to do gymnastic, exercises to accumulate a normal activity, but my weak willpower doesn’t agree to do something for long time that it doesn’t want to do. It likes tennis and bicycle and I’m allowed to play tennis as long as I want. But I haven’t found something more appropriate for my daily routine than simple walking around the park after a cup of morning tea.

10,000 steps are less than one kilometer, but not so by much. Your shop-around- the-corner is possibly much further. And it takes only ten or fifteen minutes to reach the shop.

For numbers over one thousand (1000), a comma (,) is necessary.

Then why does an the average person do much less steps than 10,000 steps for 1440 day minutes of the day? I mean with all his work, ways travel to work and to home, and the meetings with friends he has. His average day’s activity usually doesn’t exceed 5000 steps (2-3 two to three campaigns to the shop-around-the- corner and back).

"I'm an average person." But the way you are using it here is a little more specific, so "the" is required.

I also have these walk only 5000 steps when it’s too very cold or enormously hot outdoors (that’s almost several months of an a year in Moscow). But when the wheather weather is more or less good, I take my pedometer, pleer iPOD(?) and go to the nearest park, or just to the center of the city.

I changed "too cold" to "very cold." If it's "too cold," then you wouldn't go walking at all.

By "pleer," do you mean to say "iPOD or MP3 player"?

And I walk and listen to my pleer iPOD(?) (usually audiobooks than music). It gives me enough activity (much more than the recommended 10,000 steps), and I manage to listen to several chapters of an audiobook. Last time I combined walking and developing my English listening skills by listening VOA radio broadcasts. It helps a lot.

I like to listen to audiobooks too when I'm walking. It gives me the incentive to get out and walk, since I want to know what happens next in the story.

I used to do gymnastics, sufficient exercises to accumulate meet a normal level of activity, but my weak willpower doesn’t agree to do with doing something for a long time that it doesn’t want to do. It likes tennis and bicycle bicycling, and I’m allowed to play tennis as long as I want. But I haven’t found something anything more appropriate for my daily routine than simple simply walking around the park after a cup of morning tea.

weak willpower / doesn't agree with / conscious mind (that thinks it's a great idea to do something for a long time)

I enjoy walking, but when I'm feeling especially energetic I go hiking in the nearby hills. If I had a mountain bike like some of the guys I meet on the trail, I would go mountain biking. I wonder if that's possible where you live.
