Are the word "the people" and "those who" same meaning in the sentence below?
"I've taken the hammock camping behind a cemetery. I didn't camp right in the cemetery to be respectful to those who have passed."
This is the description from my favorite Youtuber Steve Wallis's video.
Can you replace the word "those who" with "the people" in this sentence?
If you can that, it'll be the same meaning as whole sentence?

You can but stylistically it wouldn't be as good . "Those who have passed" is what's called a euphemism. A ' nice' way of referring to the dead

Yes, however I have to agree with Sue. It is more polite and respectful to use the words Steve Wallis originally chose.

Yes. "Who" is a pronoun for "people".
If you decided to ever camp out in a cemetery, watch out for zombies.
