I have been planning to go to East Africa for a while, so I always keep (I've been keeping) an eye on the weather there. I was very sorry to hear that the people there suffered flooding in the past (few) days that was worse than ever before. I was also shocked by the fact that so many countries had been affected and more than 10s of thousands of people have gone missing because of the disaster. I think this is not the start, neither will this be the end. It is caused by years of damage that people have brought to (have inflicted on) the environment, the environment responds when it can not cope. Even if we have been trying to work together to slow the rate of damage, the facts proved that the rate of recovery is slower than the rate of deterioration. Because I feel the environment's response (to the damage) is getting stronger and stronger.
