No. Firstly, this kind of cooking is not as common in English-speaking countries as in Spanish-speaking countries, so many people might not ever use the term here. However, if we must give it a name I would say "hotplate". It certainly has nothing to do with "iron".
As for the whole term "carne a la plancha", it is not easy to translate as there is no equivalent term. You might have to say something like "meat cooked on the hotplate", although this sounds a bit silly to me.
