In the sense of 'other than' ,when excluding things or persons ,they are almost synonyms,that you can interchange as in: لن يستطيع أحد غيره إصلاح هذا الجهاز لن يستطيع أحد سواه إصلاح هذا الجهاز لن يستطيع أحد إلا هو إصلاح هذا الجهاز The only difference is in the grammatical structure, in the case of both سوي و غير the succeeding pronoun is attached to them ,while in the case of إلا it is always separate. Sometimes they are not interchangeable though as in River's third example: الكل يحب الموسيقي إلا سارة You can also say interchangeably: الكل يحب الموسيقي سوي سارة However you can't say : الكل يحب الموسيقي غير سارة

they are all have the same meaning which it is (except) they are synonyms for example: 1) لم يحضر احد غيرك which means (nobody attended except you) 2) لم أحب احدا سواك which means ( I didn't love anybody except you) 3) الكل يحب الموسيقى الا سارة which means (everybody loves music except sara)

غير=另外 سوى=只有， الا= 除了 كيف نقول كاتبهم الى كاتبهم باللغة الصينية

غير = different "مثل هذا الكتاب غير " مختلف سوى = only لا يوجد سوى كتاب واحد الا = but كل الكتب جيدة الا هذا الكتاب وتختلف معانيها على حسب استخدامها سواء كان كفعل او اسم او حرف
