In Spanish for speaking about actions that affect yourself or certain people directly we use verbs in their reflexive form. Let's say that the verb reflect the action towards the subject (sounds a little bit redundant). Example: Yo peino a María (the action goes over another person different that the subject) Yo me peino (the action is reflected to the subject) Those verbs are compounds by a reflexive pronoun + the verb. It's quite common not to mention the subject when is the same that the refered by the reflexive pronoun and there can't be any mistake. The verb can be expressed in different tenses depending on the sense of the message. Examples: Me encanta la música. Reflexive pronoun 'me' telling that your talking about yourself Verb expressing the action in the present: encanta. Nos gustará la fiesta. Reflexive pronoun 'Nos' telling that your talking about ourselves Verb expressing the action in the future: gustará. (Ellos) se sentaron lejos de nosotros. Reflexive pronoun 'Se' telling that your talking about themselves Verb expressing the action in the past: sentaron.

Very easy: 1. Me gusta bailar -- "bailar" is the subject, "gusta" is the verb and "me" is the complement. 2. Me gustan los helados -- "los helados" is the subject, "gustan" is the verb and "me" is the complement. You cannot say in Spanish "*Yo encanto los helados" because "los helados" should be the subject and it must agree in number with the verb ("los helados" is a plural form and "encanto", which is not correct, is a singular form). Hi Merna =)!, "Me" and "Yo" have the same meaning in spanish, but we say "me encanta" because the action of the verb "encantar" falls in yourself directly, and in change if I say "Yo encantar" the verb "encantar" doesn't fall in yourself directly, unless you change the conjugation of the verb "encantar" to "encantada", it's a little confused, but hope this helps you =)
