I always wish I had been VS I've always wished I'd have been
#1: You know, I have a confession to make…I always wish I had been more supportive when Carl left you.
#2: You know, I have a confession to make…I've always wished I would have been more supportive when Carl left you.
-> As you can see, a little difference can be seen between them.
Which one is more acceptable for native speakers?
Are they above just same meaning?

We would be fine with these options equally. Notice that it is a lie. The person could have been more supportive, yet uses the word always. I might point that out if I were Carl.

Both are correct but the first one means you wish now and the second one means you have wished since it happened, the first is not clear in meaning whereas the second one is.

#1 is correct.
#2 is wrong.

They would be understood to mean exactly the same thing. You would hear #2 more often.
