-게 되다 - when to use past and when to use future tense Can someone explain to me the difference between 되다 as past / future in a sentence. For example : - 내일부터 같은 반에서 공부하게 될 거예요 - 내일부터 같은 반에서 공부하게 됐어요 Instinctively I'd go for the first one seeing it says 내일부터 but the second one is also correct although I have no clue why. Help's appreciated!

It "has been deceided" that you(we, etc.) will attend the same class as of tomorrow. (Subjective omitted) 내일부터 같은 반에서 공부하"게 됐어요".

I've just come up with a couple of examples. 좋아하게 될 거예요(You will come to like it/him/her/them). 좋아하게 됐어요(Turns out I like it/him/her - this uses past tense but in fact it's present tense. I don't think I've ever heard "come to..." used with any other verb than "like", but I think this helps you get the feel of how it is used and extend this to other verbs in your thinking, or I hope so!
