The prefix 'a-' used here means 'in the process of'. So, you could add it to any verb really. I am a-typing, the couple were a-kissing and a-hugging. However, we don't use it seriously in normal speech or writing these days. The writer you quote uses it for fun, because it sounds nice.

This seems to be a fusion of "abuzz" and buzzing, made by the author purely for literary effect. Sometimes in children's rhymes or poetry, the "a" sound can be added at the beginning of words to keep them in rhythm. It doesn't change the meaning of the word.

In this case, it means that the bloggers are writing nonstop at the same time. Bees do not stop buzzing or they will fall. At a bee hive all bees - it seems - are buzzing at the same time. The quite sound of a bee is drowned by the loud sound of thousands at the same time - making the same noise. The bloggers are all making the same "noise."
