I am not an expert, more of it, I am not an expert at all, but I think the rule works: A 比 B + Adjective 飞机比汽车很快。 Hope it helps ;)

比 alone means "than"; but compare means 比较 | 相比 | 比喻为 | 对照. that is why your question doesn't make sense.
