The words "rin" and "din" are adverbs and are the same as well based on their function in a sentence. It means "also" or "too" in English. The word "rin" is strictly used only after a word which ends with a vowel and "din" is being used only after a word which ends with a consonant. For example: ~> Using "rin" ... "Ang gandA RIN ng mga bulaklak." --- "Flowers are also beautiful." ~> Using "din" ... "AaliS DIN ba siya?" --- "Is she leaving too?" Hi Marti, The answer above is correct although I have seen a few occasions wherein it is not strictly followed. You can also see the change of D to R in the word "daw" - "it was said". AldЯin 李天福 is basically correct. however, 'din' and 'rin' can be used interchangeably not considering a 'strict' rule to be followed. it's a matter of formality in some way. Some patriotic Filipino poems seldom use "rin" (or "raw" as to 'daw') maybe for a reason of elegance and style, but I assume a reason of sounding a real Tagalog poet. :)
