Excited expresses a feeling. Exciting describes a place or an experience. Being in an exciting place makes you feel excited.

yes....existing is used as a continuous present tense...and Excited is implies for perfect past tense.... for example...."I am so exciting now bcoz my dad brings me a gift, today" Excited - for exam.."I was so excited when i heard that u r come to meet me" Hope this will help you...
