What is the meaning of the phrase "door ding"? "I don’t want another parking space. I want my parking space. It’s perfect. It’s a corner spot, cutting the risk of DOOR-DINGS in half. It’s a mere 28 steps from the building entrance. The nearby tree provides shade on hot days and is also home to a delightful squirrel. Which is fortuitous because most squirrels are real jerks."

"Door-Ding" - In this "Ding" actually the sound which comes the car door hits something like when we park the car in a narrow space and when we open the door sometimes (Actually most of the time :P) it hits the wall or the car parked adjacent to it..!!! http://img.ehowcdn.com/article-new-intro-modal/ehow/images/a04/u5/78/fix-car-door-dings-800x800.jpg

When a car is parked next to your car, if the other person opens their door, it might hit your car. That is a door ding. Most parking spaces (spots) have cars on both sides. With a corner spot, you have a car on one side and nothing on the other side. So you are only half as likely to get a door ding.
