Please help me translate! I'm trying to translate this song. One line goes: Majboor kya kije I know that "kya" means "what," and I think "Majboor" means "compelled," but what is "kije"?? I tried to look it up in dictionaries, and I couldn't find anything for "kije" or "ki je". Can someone please help me out?

" कीजे/kije " was often used in old hindi and Urdu poems . It has now been replaced by " कीजिये/kijiye " in the modern Hindi. Its meaning and use is similar to " karen/करें " and it means " to do " , the only difference is that " karen/करें " is used in informal situations while " कीजिये/kijiye " is used in formal situations. " kya kijiye " ( kya kije ) :- what to do? mujhe " maaf kijiye/ माफ़ कीजिये ":- " forgive/pardon " me . कुछ कीजिये( kuch kijiye ) :- Do something. " अफ़सोस मत कीजिये /afsos mat kijiye " - " don't regret/feel sorry " ( here, afsos means to regret )

'kije' is not generally what we use in day to day conversation. 'kije' is form of the verb karna - to do. so it should be, according to context and my understanding 'kya kije' - 'what to do?'. Let it be confirmed by someone, who uses it. Because i have listened it in songs and poetry only, so i cannot give a authentic guide to this verb form.
