방식 and 방법 are the similar concepts which are 'how to' or 'ways' but I think , sometimes 방식 is used by the principle of those. sometimes,in short , 방식= the principal of how to, / mechanism of how to so I guess you would see 방식 is more frequent in scienfic,cultural and philosophic terms when a certain writer explains something with them. 이 장치의 작동 방식은 동시대와 그것과는 매우 다르다. 전통적인 인디언들의 삶의 방식은 현대인과는 매우 다르다. if there are many missplled words in my writing , please mercy on me. >.<

방식(方式) and 방법(方法) has almost the same meanings. 방식(方式) means a fixed form, or a regular manner or style, so 방식 means "a fixed way, a regular method, or a proper form, established already by people or someone". In other words, 방식 is "to be shown on eyes" or be able to see", in a certain form. 방법(方法) means a way or method or process that one use to do or achieve something, such as a work, study, or research, etc. an acquired skill for achieving or accomplishing one's certain purpose or goal. In other words, 방법 is "to be unable to see" for examples, 방법이 일정하게 고착되면 방식이 된다. 그가 옷을 입는 방식은 매우 독특하다. 아마, 그 자신만이 아는 어떤 방법이 있을 것이다. 각 나라마다 인사하는 방식(or 방법)이 다르다. 한국과 일본은 허리를 굽혀 인사를 하지만, 미국은 악수를 청하거나 모자를 벗고 고개를 살짝 끄덕인다.
