A clachan is a small settlement. In English it's called a hamlet.
Rathad is a road. The "th" in Gaelic is pronounced as "h".
Cairn Gorm is literally "blue hill" (there's also the city Cairns in Australia.. same origin).
In Cairn Gorm there is a place called Utsi's Bridge, marked by stones (the bridge is made of wood, on steel beams). It looks fairly recent.

I am now quite interested in the book you are translating. I am also someone who loves to hike. I am not a mountain climber, but I do some rock scrambling. Utsi reintroduced reindeer to the area. Here is an interesting map and some photographs of the area in question: http://paul.sammonds.com/cromdale.html

The information you provided is helpful. I find "Cairngorms" is a national park, but still don't know
what the"Utsi's Stone” is. Is it a stone named after a celebrity?
