Bäst eller Bästa
I understand that they're meant to follow the general adjective rules of en/ett/plural forms but it seems that even for "en bästa vän" one uses bästa rather than bäst although it's singular form, so I was wondering if anyone knows why..

"Min vän är bäst"
"Min bästa vän"

I think that maybe, it depends on whether the noun is in the sentence or not.

Of course you can say "Han är den bästa" but then the sentence would be omitted since "Han är den bästa(personen/kompisen/borsan etc) would actually be hidden in there.
