Do the following sentences make sense? "tune-up"& "cobwebs" Hi, do the following sentences make sense? it sounds natural? Here is my attempt...(I don't want to omit these key words "tune-up"& "cobwebs" from my sentences.) Thank you very much for tuning up my bike before I get there. It may sound stupid and I know I'm asking a big favor, but I would appreciate it if you could make sure it isn't covered in cobwebs. Or, ( ...if you could check whether it's covered in cobwebs.) I think your sentences are fine. Just put a comma in the second sentence after the word "stupid:. I wasn't sure about "tune up" in the context of bikes, so I went to the universe's major source of all information -- Google --, searched for "tune up a bike", and found 465,000 links to the use of "tune up" in connection with bikes.

in my opinion tune up is usually reserved for something with an engine. the 2nd sentence is fine.
