Can someone explain the nuances of the word "shousha" and how it can mean contradicting things?
I had read before that "shousha" means "winner". But when I use online tools such as this one, it lists many other definitions for the word:
http://www.kanjijapanese.com/en/dictionary-japanese-english/shousha
i understand that kanji may be read, interpreted, and pronounced different ways and that works can have literal or implied meanings. I would like some explanation on how "shousha" could come to mean:
- winner
- injured person
- elegant
- neat
I'm not looking for hard and fast answers, just general discussion or bits of reasoning. Thanks!

I think those kanji explains the differences in meanings quite clearly.
勝者 winner: 勝 means win and 者 means person/people
傷者 injured person: 傷 means injury and 者 means person/people
瀟洒 elegant/ neat: 瀟 means refreshing 洒 means rinse/clean/neat
