I am always confused about this grammar.. For example: 1. I have been told u. 2. I had been told u. 3. I have been telling u. 4. I told u. Please tell me how can I use it correctly.

For example: 1. I have been told u. incorrect 2. I had been told u. incorrect 3. I have been telling u. Present perfect progressive -You started telling the person some time ago and you still tell them something now. 4. I told u.- Past simple. You told them a specific time in the past (like yesterday, last week) and that is now finished.

1. I have been told (that) you... = Someone has told me that you .... Example: I have been told (that) you speak five languages. 2. I had been told (that) you...= Someone had told me that you... Example: I had been told that you speak five languages, (but then I found out you speak six.) 3. I have been telling you = I have told you repeatedly and I continue to tell you... Example: I have been telling you everyday to clean up your bedroom, (but you haven't done it). I have been telling you that you drive to close to the car in front of you(and now you have had an accident). 4. I told you.... Example: I told you (that) school is closed tomorrow. I told you to call me.

The subject is perfect tense and there are several timelines about how should you use them. I think it's not a simple subject to learn quickly. 1. I have been told u. (Present perfect tense - The point is, the person you're talking to is aware of what you told them. It doesn't matter when did you tell them, the time is uncertain but they're STILL aware and that's the matter.) 2. I had been told u. (Past perfect tense - The thing is, the action is finished until the time you're talking about. You can usually use it to express an action already happened before something else happened.) 3. I have been telling u. (Present perfect tense - You started telling them some time ago and you're STILL telling them. The action is not over until now.) 4. I told u. (Past tense - It's not a feature of perfect tense, you told someting and the action ended at that moment. Didn't last for a while.) Tried my best explain them ^^

1. I have been told u. 2. I had been told u. 3. I have been telling u. this three sentences for present perfect continues and all of them incorrect also it's not right if you use tell with the PPC 4. I told u. this is the right tense example for PPC I've been teaching for two years

By the way, you shouldn't write 'u'. Outside of text messages, the only people who write 'u' on the Internet or anywhere else are kids and young teenagers.
