How do you say, "Did you mean [text I thought the person meant]?" in Japanese?
I was exchanging introductions with an individual, but I believe the phrase the individual meant to use was mistranslated so I wanted to ask, "Did you mean [what I thought the person meant]?" but I was unable to find the infinite for "to say" in Japanese, as well as the conjugation or form for past tense and the third person singular form. I am still learning Japanese so I do not even know if Japanese has verb conjugations!
Example: The person asked, "Are you alright?" when I think they meant to say, "Are you doing well?" I thought the person was inquiring if I am alright physically speaking rather than as a state of well-being.

I agree with Brian's answer. You can also say: (あなたは) (……) といいたかったのですか。/ それは (……) といういみですか。
