What would you do if you were in my place?
When I was in Canada, I went to a restaurant with my friends and I asked the wait staff where the "TOILET" is.
And then she sneered at me and said "WASHROOM, HUH?" and she just pointed at the door.
What the hell was her problem??
I think it wasn't necessary to pointed out my mistake(...maybe not a common word in Canada) if she obviously understood what I said, right?
Anyway, I was so shocked and couldn't say anything to her.
Well...actually, I still can't think of anything clever to say.:(
What would you do and say if you were in the same situation as me?
Can anyone teach me some expressions??
Thanks.
P.S. I'd be grateful if you could correct my mistakes.:)

If I thought she was being rude I would have just said "Naw, the toilet".

I'm not from Canada, I'm from the UK, so I am not familiar with what they use to say Toilet.
However, it depends on how you asked the wait staff. Of course, if you did it politely, he/she had no right to sneer at you.
If the case is that they use a different word to the toilet, then maybe she was offended by it, but I doubt that.
After some research, I found that Canadians (and some north Americans) find phrases similar to "Can you show me where the toilet is?" rude. This seems only to be true for these places. In the UK, it would be fine to say this, we also have a lot of slang for the word "toilet".
I recommend replacing the word with "bathroom"
"restroom"
"washroom"
"ladies’ room / men’s room"
I hope this helps.
