"at the ceremony" or "on the ceremony"?
He was elected to make a speech [at] the commencement ceremony as [the] representative of new students.
Here are my two questions:
1. "at the ceremony" or "on the ceremony"? I'm not sure, because I was told both of them are correct.
2. as [a] representative of students or as [the]representative of students? Are both of them correct?
The question about articles always makes me confused...
Please give some advices~Thank you so much!!

it is 'at the ceremony'. On the ceremony is incorrect in this context. If you say 'as a representative of the students', it could suggest that they might be other student representatives and he was just one of them, If you say as 'the student representative' then it suggests that he is the only one.

1) Only at the ceremony is correct.
2) A representative implies that there is more than one representative and that he is just one of many. The representative implies that there is only one representative. Both are correct but mean different things.
