Is this correct, 'I have English lesson today'?
It's said that I can omit 'an' in this sentence, 'I have English class today'.
So I'm wondering whether I need 'an' before 'English lesson'.
'Class' and 'lesson' are both countable nounts. Is it because they're set phrase that they don't need 'an/a' before them?
Thank you!

You do need the "an": I have an English class today. I have an English lesson today.
But let's say someone asks you: "What classes do you have today?" You can answer: Today, I've got English, Maths, Geography, and Music.

"I have an English class today" is correct. You cannot omit the "an".
"English class" isn't necessarily a set phrase; it's just a normal noun really. So you need "an" to indicate that you only have one class today.
If you wanted to pluralise, you would say "I have English classes today".
