I don't think making friends has anything to do with race. Everyone knows how to smile and we all need food, shelter, clothing, friends and hugs so we share commonalities even with language barriers. It may be more difficult to become friends with someone who's language you do not speak but body language and a smile goes a long way. Oh, I'm Chinese. Want to be friends?

As with other responders, I have found that Chinese people are really kind, friendly, interesting, intelligent, hard-working, and so on. I really appreciate Chinese culture and people, so maybe that helps! I think it is easy to make friends with Chinese people and yet I don't take these friendships lightly (I appreciate each person and value those friendships as being very, very special). We can make friends with people from any place or culture really and I appreciate different people and cultures; but I can say in my experience that Chinese people are very good people to make friends with. Maybe this is due to their experiences, culture, society, etc (and, in my case, also their common interests in English language/ culture and their appreciation for any small interest in their language or culture, however limited and simple that may be).

It's not hard to make friends with chinese people however, in London chinese people tend to be a bit snobbish! Trust me i would know because i have loads of chinese friends here and i'm part of the oriental society in my university. I have to say it's easy being friends with chinese guys but chinese girls are a bit hard.
