Time to whip out my ragged English, I hope it dosen't make you feel awkward.
Here are my answers to your questions:
1) we all look like human, walk like human, speak Chinese…………just kidding, Actually, I always feel like I am an outsider in the socierty, I don't feel like I share many “traits of national character or mentality” with people around. So what i can tell you is what similar features other (Chinese) people share in my view.
first, they are practical, too pratical sotimes, So practical that they treat other people (even their own children) as tools or properties, so when i say practical, it doesn't necessarily mean a good thing.
second, they are nationalistic. This common feature is so obvious among Chinese people, I'd be supprised if you tell me that you haven't noticed since you said you are living here recently.
Third, they just loooooove mony, actually this is something i can get on board with too. If you have experinced a poor life and constantly living with instablity and insecurity under dictatorship and injustice, you'd understand. So no judgement please.
At last, Chinese people are usually submissive to power, they love power, they worship power! They don't crave freedom or democracy like (what I heard) the westen people do. Which is of course a sad thing.
2)Like I said, i think i am all too different from people around. That's not bragging! I am not saying i'm good or special, i just don't feel a sence of belonging. Apparently, I'm not nationalistic. You would never hear anthing ugly about China or Chinese people from a Chinese nationalist, trust me. And freem is my ultimate pursuit.
Dude, you must have some serious problem to come living here. The air is bad, the food is disgusting and dengerous! And the lying, cheating, the dictatorshp………… Don't you know that rich Chinese people are rushing out of here?
