1. All of these are actually correct, but adding the comma breaks the sentence into two parts and makes it easier to read. So it is best to use the comma but you don't -need- to.

2. A and C are both correct, it's a little hard to describe why B isn't correct, you can change the sentence a little bit to make it make sense but if you were to do that:

"Next time, when you fail and feel battered and bruised by an experience, remember that Japanese proverb and just give it another go."

It sounds like you're saying next time they try they'll definitely fail and feel battered and bruised! So A and C are best.
A is more common though as it's easier to say and easier to read.
