我想知道lives和life应在何时用?
I wonder to know when I should use "lives" and "life".
我知道lives是life的复数形式,但是"生活"应该是不可数名词。
I know "lives" is the plural of "life", while it should be a uncountable noun.
For example:
Technology can help our lives more efficient.
可否将其中的"lives"换成"life"?因为看到有些文章写的是“our life”。
Can I change the "lives" to "life"? Because I had seen some articles used "our life".
Thanks a lot for you help! :D

It depends on the context. If you are talking about a general situation in which what you are saying is applicable to everyone and not just a single person or group, then you should say "lives."
However, if you are talking about a single person, or a group of people whose lives are directly related to one another, then you'll use the singular "life." For example:
"Our life together as a married couple has been very beautiful." You say "life" here, because the couple is consider that their individual lives have come together and are assumed to be one unit in this case.
"Our lives were forever changed by the incident" In this case, an outside occurrence affects many people at once and therefore "lives" is used in this context.
I'm not sure how else to explain it, but I hope these examples and my explanation helps. If you have further questions, please let me know.

大多数情况下,lives表示“生命”,可数。单数形式时读/laiv/。life/liv/一般表示“生活,生存等"。当然还有别的意思。

"Live" has two pronunciations which also have their own, yet similar, meanings.
For example, I do not "live" in the United States. This pronunciation and context means to inhabit or to be alive.
Second pronunciation: We will report "live" from New York tonight on channel 8. This means unrecorded or happening as you see it.
I hope this helps.
