1. Both are correct. You can use either 'if' or 'whether' in this sentence, and the meaning is the same. There is no need to avoid using 'if'. The only time you have to use 'whether' is if the sentence is ordered like this: 'I'd like to know whether or not this sentence is correct'. If the phrase 'or not' comes directly after the conjunction, you cannot use 'if'. 2. Neither order is natural. The most usual phrasing would be 'I'd like to know whether A or B is correct'. or 'I'd like to know which one is correct - A or B.'
