Is there a word I can use to express "to know something in advance"? We Chinese students will carry out the "Mid-autumn Day" activity in advance which is 7 days earlier than the day is supposed to be, to make overseas students get to know this Chinese traditional day ahead of time, so I want to know if a word can show that meaning or I should simply use "in advance"?

Foreknowledge is not the word you're looking for. The following are synonyms for foreknowledge: clairvoyance intuition ESP feeling insight omen perception precognition premonition psyche sixth sense telepathy "Advance notice to the students" is more along the lines of what you should say.

There are words, but I wouldn't use any of them in this situation. I'd also say that you were going to "celebrate 'Mid-autumn Day' activities a week early to let students know about the traditions ahead of time."

We have a word called "foreknowledge." If you wanted to you could say "We will promote this day, in advance, to foreigners to ensure that they have foreknowledge of the event."
