If I may, can I come up with a better sentence for your partner that you miss? I came with this alternative:
나는 지구 반대편에 있지만, 당신을 매일 보고 싶어. <- It means "Even though I'm on the other side of the world, I miss you everyday. (very informal) Nice and simple and you can avoid the count as missing part.

"I miss you everyday even though I live on the other side of the world, but I don't know if that counts as missing."
=> 지구의 반대편에 있지만 저는 매일 *당신*이 보고 싶어요. 그게 보고 싶어하는 것에 해당될지는 모르지만요.
(substitute XX 씨 for *당신*, where XX is the person's first name).
* 지구(the globe); 반대편(opposite side); 보고 싶다(miss someone); 해당되다/해당하다(count as something).
The sentence sounds a bit odd however, mainly because of "if that counts as missing".
It's like saying "I miss you ..., but does that count as missing?" - what is "counting as missing"?
