Second sentence sounds much more natural.

They are both correct. It makes no difference which one you use. But the second word in the sentence "A" shouldn't be there. I think you want to say "they" instead of "A" So the sentence would go like this "If they cross the line first, they will not only be the winners but also a group who has broken two records in a row.
