Can I use these interchangeably? (in the picture etc) I'm the one on the left. The one on the left is me.

Both mean the same thing. In the first one, you let your audiences know your intention of telling them where you are in the picture right at the beginning of the sentence. While in the second one, you let your audiences guess who that person is, until the very end of your sentence.

Since it sounds like you are describing a photo of you and other people, yes they are interchangeable. The first one I think is more common.
