Could anyone tell me what the large metropolitan about is and how to use? I read a sentence which is "Foreign tourists feel more secure here than in most other large metropolitan areas in the U.S." . The adjective "large" makes me confused. I think metropolitan is used to descript a big city. It's mean which includes large.Why does "large" here be used to descript metropolitan?
