I think it is using dance as an allegory for personal relationships. We are a couple and there are times when we dance together, moving in harmony. But there are also times when we move apart and we have freedom to do what we want.

Sounds philosophical. Maybe its just a fancy way of saying "there seems to be a gap between us. Lets turn it into a positive move by allowing ourselves to cross that boundary and lessen that gap". Or it could just be something devoid of meaning, just a bunch of fancy words thrown together to impress.
