would vs simple present Can we use would instead of the simple present tense?

I assume you're talking about the "habitual aspect". We use the habitual aspect to emphasize that n action is repeated. For instance, this sentence is in *past simple*: "When I lived in China, I *went* to the market every day". And this sentence is in *past habitual*: "When I lived in China, I *would go* to the market every day." The two sentences mean the same thing, but adding "would" emphasizes the repetitive nature of the action. For *present habitual*, we use "will" instead of "would". EX: "I wake up very early. I *will usually wake up* around 4:30 AM, but sometimes I sleep in as late as 6:00." Here, "will wake up" looks just like future tense, but it's actually present habitual.

I think you would need to give us an example. We use present simple to express facts, habits and general truths. "Would" is completely hypothetical.
