Qu'est-ce vs Est-ce? Can someone give me examples on how to use them? I have a hard time asking questions in French.

Hello Luke, Just for suplementing the Nyord and Франк contributions, when the answer is Yes or No, the question (close-ended question) can be : "Est-ce que tu aimes le chocolat ? Oui." If the answer is a thing or anything else (except yes or no), the question (open question) can be : "Qu'est-ce que tu aimes manger ? (J'adore) le chocolat."

Hello. Actually, this is pretty easy. "Qu' " comes from "Quoi". "Quoi" means literally "What". So : "Qu'(What) est(is) ce(it/this) ?" And : "Est(Is) ce(it/this) ?"

That´s maybe, because it seems more complicated than necessary, if you are used to english. Est-ce que tu habite ici? Is it, that you live here? Qu´est-ce que tu penses de moi? What is it, that you think of me?
