X files Scully's accent Hello everyone, While watching X-files series these days I couldn't get rid of the feeling that Scully's intonations and pronunciation somehow sound British (not all the time, but sporadically). After a quick search I found out that the actress actually lived in London from 2 to 11 years old, and when she moved back to the USA, she was mocked at school because of her British accent, so that she rapidly adapted the Midwestern accent. However, her parents continued to have a flat in London where she spent summers. Now, the question is: how do native American and British speakers perceive her accent in these series? Do the American speakers feel there's something British about her accent? And vice versa. Thanks in advance, Elvira
