If the dictionary expected me to know what the "hearty manner" was, why would I have googled the adverb "heartily"?? how would you describe heartily?

Heartily means wholeheartedly and happy. For example you can have a hearty meal which means a meal that is warming and makes you "hearty", joyful, happy, in a genuine way. Hope this helps
