Could somebody explain to me a line form the movie Hannibal
There's a dialogue between two characters of the movie, Hannibal Lecter and a woman named Allegra.
A: Dr Fell, do you believe a man could become so obsessed with a woman from a single encounter?
H: Could he daily feel a stab of hunger for her, and find nourishment in the very sight of her? I think so. Would she see through the bars of his plight and ache for him?
This last sentence confuses me. Maybe I'm not right, but I think it can be rephrased like this: "Would she be able to not see his problem and love him?".
Thanks in advance
