"Awoke" is the past tense. "A few hours ago I awoke."
"Awake" is the present tense. It is hard to write a simple sentence that uses it, because you are not usually talking then!
"In the summer, I awake every morning to the sound of birds."
You can also uses it as a command in the present tense: "Sleepers, awake!" A English translation of a poem by Omar Khayyam begins "Awake! for Morning in the Bowl of Night/Has flung the Stone that put the Stars to Flight!"
"Awake" is less common than the verb "wake." A more common way to say all these things would be: "I woke up a few hours ago," "Every day I wake to the sound of birds," and "Hey! Wake up! It's time to get up!"

Hi Loletta!
I think very interesting you habit to read books while is going work! Congratualtions!
Nowadays, people get stuck in social media and I usually don't see people reading books.
Usually when I am going work by bus, I like reading books, too. Not frequently, but I like.
If you have a good book to share with me, feel free to do it.
Have a great week!
