the verb ''τρώω'' is always used to show continuity; it is an action that has a duration. the verb ''φάω'' indicates the moment; it is a momentary action. Let's take an example from the subjunctive mood. ''να τρώω'' / ''να φάω'' are both in the subjunctive: θέλω να τρώω = I want to be eating (eg: κάθε μέρα θέλω να τρώω ψωμί = every day I want to be eating bread) θέλω να φάω = I want to eat (meaning that this action will last just for a moment, eg: αύριο θέλω να φάω ψωμί = tomorrow I want to eat bread) The same happens with the future tenses: θα τρώω = I will be eating (this tense is called ''Συνεχής / Εξακολουθητικός Μέλλοντας'' = Continuous Future tense) θα φάω = I will eat (this tense is called ''Απλός / Στιγμιαίος Μέλλοντας'' = Simple or Momentary Future tense) I hope this helps :)

τρώω= to eat in the present simple Θα φάω= to eat in the future tense for example : Θα φάω σουβλάκι με τον φίλο μου. = i wll eat souvlaki with my friend Κάθε μέρα τρώω ψωμί και τυρί= i eat bread and cheese everyday Good luck :)

You are right , they both mean the same thing, the difference lies on the tense you're using. When you say τρώω, you are talking about the present. =Τι τρως; Τρώω παγωτό. = =What are you eating? I am eating ice-cream. "Τρώω" changes and takes the form of "φάω" when its in the Future Simple. It becomes " Θα φάω" and it represents something that you will do at some point in the future. Hope this was helpful ! :)
